Sherwood Forest is set to come alive with the sights and sounds of history as it hosts the “Gathering of the North,” a captivating historical re-enactment featuring our very own ‘Knights Tale’ style tournament of champions, created by Fireside Events Ltd.

Scheduled to take place from 10am to 4pm daily on May Bank Holiday, 23rd, 24th, and 25th May 2025, this event promises a weekend filled with medieval charm and immersive historical recreation. So, grab a jacket fit for a knight and get ready for an unforgettable experience!

What to expect at Gathering of the North:

The Gathering of the North will offer an immersive historical experience with a variety of traditional traders and the main attraction – the tournaments. Visitors can expect to see competitive Kubbs, thrilling jousts reminiscent of the world renowned Robin Hood Festival, and intense hand-to-hand combat demonstrations. Roaming entertainers and re-enactors will be on hand to ensure a memorable experience for all attendees.

The event will feature a rich programme of activities centred around the tournaments. Attendees can enjoy live performances, demonstrations from historical businesses, and market stalls offering tasters, samples, and interactive experiences. Each tournament will be managed by an experienced crew, ensuring the safety of visitors and the sacred forest and authenticity.

Running from 10am to 4pm each day of the Bank Holiday, the event provides ample time for visitors to explore and enjoy all the activities on offer. With a well-structured schedule, attendees can fully immerse themselves in the historical atmosphere of Sherwood Forest.
