🌿GotN Trader Spotlight 🌿
The Gathering of the North 2026 – Tournament of Champions, Sherwood Forest
From the shadowed boughs of ancient oaks and the whispered tales of old England, a familiar and much‑loved artist returns to us once more.
Those who walked the paths of The Gathering of the North in 2025 may already know her work well and we are proud to welcome her back in 2026, as Jacqui de Rose again takes her place among the traders of this Tournament of Champions, deep within the heart of Sherwood Forest.
A nature‑based artist and storyteller, Jacqui’s creations are steeped in the history, folklore and mythology of our land. Each piece feels as though it carries a memory of moss‑covered stones, half‑remembered legends, and the spirits of land and leaf that linger still.
Founded in 2013, Jacqui de Rose Art has travelled far and wide, with her original artworks, fine art prints and hand‑painted wooden pieces appearing at renowned Viking, Medieval, fantasy and historical markets across England and Wales. Her bold, vibrant and illustrative style is instantly recognisable, drawing the eye and then the imagination, ever deeper.
Every item upon Jacqui’s stand is hand‑painted or hand‑crafted by the artist herself, and she welcomes conversation as warmly as she welcomes custom. Ask, and she will gladly share the stories woven into each piece, tales drawn from myth, folklore and the living landscape around us.
A long‑standing contributor to the beautiful Earth Pathways Diary (Est. 2008), Jacqui has spent many years trading at Viking and Medieval events, and with The Travelling Historical Market, fully embracing each era she steps into. Her devotion goes beyond her art she hand‑creates her own historically inspired costumes, immersing herself wholly in the spirit of the age.
Sherwood Forest holds a special place in her heart. A regular visitor throughout the year and a familiar presence at RSPB events, the forest itself has shaped and inspired many of her designs. It is fitting, then, that she returns once more to this legendary place where outlaw tales, ancient trees and living history entwine.
As we gather again in 2026 to celebrate history through immersive activity at the gateway of the North, Jacqui de Rose stands ready to welcome old friends and new, her art a bridge between past and present.
