The information tent will be able to help you with queries such as directions, lost and found, lost child or general questions.
Is this a family friendly event?
We take great pride in being a family friendly event. We have created a space for all ages to enjoy the magic of our event. From captivating performances, to engaging activities there is something for everyone. There may be some age restrictions for certain activities (e.g. Archery 3+) but these will be down to the traders discretion
Is the event Free?
The event itself is situated in the open access free venue of Sherwood Forest. No pre-booking, tickets or cost for arriving.
However please note that if driving local parking charges apply, the RSPB Main Parking is a fixed £10 per day cost – all proceeds go to supporting this charity in its continued mission and protecting this beautiful historic location.

Can I get Public Transport to the event?
Yes, public transport is available in the local area.
The Sherwood Arrow runs between Nottingham City Centre to Worksop and Retford via Ollerton and can take you to attractions along the route including Rufford Abbey Country Park and Sherwood Forest.
The service operates from 5:40am until 12:36am Monday to Saturday, and 8:45am until 10pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

The Stagecoach Sherwood Arrow service travels regularly between Nottingham, Worksop and Sherwood Forest every day of the week.
There is a bus stop at the Visitor Centre.
Are Pets Welcome?
We understand that pets are cherished members of your family and welcome them into our event grounds.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all, please ensure that all dogs remain on their leads at all time within the event grounds.
Will there be camping?
Camping onsite will be reserved for the staff and traders, no public camping is available on site. There are however several Airbnb’s, hotels (Newark/Mansfield) and campsites available in the area.
Is there a dress code?
If you are inclined to medieval-style clothing, fantasy-themed outfits or any attire that compliments the atmosphere of the event, then we wholeheartedly embrace your creativity.
However there is no strict dress code, and modern day clothing is perfectly fine.
Are all activities free on the day?
Unfortunately no, some activities are charged by the vendors themselves. The costs may vary depending on the specific activity, ensuring you have the flexibility to choose the activities that interest you the most. We believe this allows you to customise your experience and participate in the experiences that truly resonate with you whilst supporting unique small businesses.
What’s free?
We are thrilled to share that there will be a lot on offer throughout the day that will not come at any extra cost, the medieval village, the atmosphere of the day, the memories you will make with your loved ones and of course our main event the tournament, ensuring that there is something for everyone.
How accessible is the event?
Our event takes place in a picturesque protected forest, offering a natural and open setting for our event. While the landscape is mostly flat, it is important to note that we cannot guarantee accessibility for all attendees as some parts of the forest will have un-even terrain. We aim to provide an inclusive and enjoyable experience, but the natural terrain may present challenges for some.
What are the rules with Weapons?
For the safety of all evet-goers, we strictly prohibit the presence of items that could fall under the Offensive Weapons Act. Please review the act here: Offensive Weapons Act.
Weapons purchased from onsite traders must be immediately taken to your car and cannot be carried around the event grounds.
Eco-Friendly?
At our event, we are committed to becoming increasingly eco-conscious. we are taking strides to reduce our environmental footprint, from minimising single use plastics to encouraging recycling throughout the event grounds. We ask that where possible you take your waste home with you to help us protect the forest.
